The 54m-long two-car sets will accommodate 176 seated and 170 standing passengers, compared with 88 seats on the 36-year-old Linke-Hofmann-Busch VTE two-car dmus they will replace.
The 120km/h trains will be delivered in the second half of 2015 and will be used on services between Neumünster and Eidelstedt.
