\r\nThe tender covers the acquisition of 10 four-car, two three-car and one two-car train. The EMUs must be accessible for passengers with reduced mobility and equipped with power sockets, a baby changing area, bicycle storage, passenger information systems, and windows which allow high transmittance of daylight. Moreover, the trains will be covered with a special anti-graffiti coat to protect them from vandalism.\r\nKS expects to receive the first trains in 2017, and the order will be completed by July 2018. The new trains will be in service for 25-30 years and KS says the choice of future supplier depends on two criteria: price and the warranty period.\r\nKS operates regional trains in Silesia Province and carried 15.9 million passengers in 2015. Its existing fleet comprises 59 EMUs and three DMUs, with Silesian Railway owning 26 outright and the others leased from various companies.
