These 200km/h trains are marketed as SJ 3000 and currently operate on services radiating from Stockholm to Sundsvall, Jönköping, Uddevalla and Östersund.

Completion of the order will allow SJ to introduce the trains on the Stockholm – Borlänge – Falun route on November 5, to Karlstad, and on December 9 to extend Stockholm – Sundsvall services to Umeå. This will be the first time SJ has operated a through daytime service between Stockholm and Umeå over the recently-opened Botnia high-speed line. The trains will complete the 714km trip in about 6h 30min.

SJ has an option with Bombardier for an additional 20 X55 trains, however it is currently reviewing its rolling stock needs.
