Suzhou currently has three metro lines in operation, totalling 105km, together with a 25.7km light rail line serving Suzhou New District. The first phase of the 45km 37-station Line 3 is due to open in December 2019, with the 44.1km, 34-station Line 5 following in June 2021.
Nanjing Metro is the fourth largest metro within China. The 35km, 27-station Line 7 will run parallel to the Yangtze River in a southwestern direction, across the Qixia, Gulou, Jianye and Yuhuatai districts.
