Line 6 Phase 1 comprises two sections: the 16.7km western section between Jiayuzhen and Linhu Road, which is planned to open in December 2021, and the 22.5km northeastern section between Linhu Road and Xiaoying, which is scheduled to open in December 2023. Upon completion, the full line will incorporate 2.8km elevated and 36.4km underground rail sections and serve 26 stations, including nine interchanges.

TST will equip the line with its TSTCBTC 2.0 signalling system.

Line 6 is intended to reinforce transport links between the city’s Zhengzhou’s Zhongyuan, Erqi, Zhengdong New and Xingyang Donglin Lake districts into existing transport links.

TSTCBTC 2.0 was previously installed on Shanghai Metro lines 5 and 14. From 2021, the system will be used on Line 14 for the operation of trains at Grade of Automation 4 (GoA4).

The news follows the announcement in June that TST will also install CBTC on the first phase of the 39.6km Nanchang Line 4 metro project in Jiangxi Province.
