The contracts encompass preventative, predictive and corrective maintenance on 106 suburban trains used in the Barcelona area and full maintenance services for 15 class 104 Pendolino EMUs, which operate services from Madrid to Ciudad Real, Puertollano, Toledo, Córdoba and Seville.
All work will be carried out by Irvia, a joint venture between Alstom (51%) and Renfe (49%).
The suburban contract runs for four years with an optional extension. All maintenance activities will take place at Renfe’s depots in Vilanova, Moncada and Mataró, where Alstom already maintains the trains under a previous contract.
The class 104s are maintained at Cerro Negro depot in Madrid and La Sagra in Toledo.
