Pakistan Railways track doubling makes progress

Track doubling of the 90km section between Lodhran and Khanewal has been completed at a cost of Rs 3.3bn ($US 36.3m).

A further Rs 12.6bn is being invested to double the 247km Khanewal - Raiwind line by mid-year. Pakistan Railways is spending Rs 9.4bn to upgrade the 290km Karachi - Kotri line, and plans to spend Rs 45.9bn on track improvements
