DB agrees framework contract for emus

GERMAN Rail (DB)and private German passenger operators are establishing framework contracts with chosen suppliers ahead of future regional passenger rolling stock tenders.

DB Regio has selected Alstom, Stadler, and CAF, Spain, as potential suppliers of up to 400 emus, with tenders up until 2018 only open to bids from these three companies.

DB already has framework agreements for Bombardier Traxx diesel locomotives and double-deck coaches, and for Alstom Lint dmus.
