UKRAINE’s transport minister Mr Volodymyr Omelyan and Mr Ricardo Maria Monti, president of Italian State Railways (FS) engineering subsidiary Italferr met in Kiev on January 30 to discuss the preparation of technical and economic studies for high-speed rail on the Odessa - Kiev - Lviv corridor.

“This is a megaproject, the realisation of which will not only change the railway sector, but will also positively affect the economic situation of a number of regions, significantly increase the capacity of existing spheres of production and launch new ones,” Omelyan says. “Today, along with Italian partners, we are making the first step on this path.”
