THE first of 21 Urbos low-floor LRVs for the initial phase of the Luxembourg light rail network arrived at the city’s Kirchberg depot on February 8 after completing its 1800km road journey from CAF’s plant in Zaragoza, Spain.

CAF was awarded a €83m contract by project developer Luxtram in 2015 to supply the fleet of 45m-long 2.65m-wide bidirectional vehicles for the 6.4km line from LuxExpo to Pont Rouge, which is due to open in the second half of this year.

Each vehicle will accommodate up to 450 passengers.
