The order consists of 14 trains with 112 seats which is part of a framework contract signed in 2008, and 24 trains with 160 seats which is an option from a contract signed in 2011. They will enter commercial service on DB Regio services on Germany's southwest diesel network in Rhineland-Palatinate, Hesse and Baden-Württemberg in 2015. The low-floor trains, which will be fitted with CCTV, two wheelchair spaces, toilets and intercoms, will be manufactured at Alstom's Salzgitter plant.
