CZECH open-access operator RegioJet announced on November 23 that tickets have gone on sale for its new Prague - Vienna service, which will begin operating on December 10.

Northbound services will depart from Vienna Main Station at 06.30, 10.30, 14.30 and 18.30, with the southbound trains leaving Prague Hlavní Nádraží at 05.21, 09.21, 13.21, and 16.21. The journey time will be 4h 12min northbound and 4h 2min southbound. All services will make intermediate stops at Vienna Simmering and Brno.

RegioJet will operate the service in partnership with Graz Köflach Railway (GKB) using the Austrian operator’s license and safety certificate.

One-way fares are €15 for Standard class, €22 for Relax class and €29 for Business class. RegioJet says these fares will be apply for any seat on any train, and will be available right up until a few minutes before departure. Passengers will not need to carry a printed ticket and tickets can be cancelled at any time up to 15 minutes before departure with a full refund.

“Our objective is to show, that international travelling by train can be as easy and flexible as taking a bus, but with an incomparable level of comfort,” says RegioJet CEO Mr Radim Jančura. “We want to challenge traditional railway operators to leave the historical and complicated old-fashion ways of servicing clients on international routes. That’s why we are bringing full flexibility in bookings, we are not changing our services when crossing borders and bringing other items that customers have always wanted but could not imagine them on a train.”
