NEW York Metropolitan Transport Authority (MTA) has announced the launch of the Subway Library, an initiative between the New York Public Library, Brooklyn Public Library, Queens Library, MTA and Transit Wireless, which will provide subway passengers with free access to e-books, excerpts and short stories.

As part of the Subway Library celebration, a specially wrapped “Library Train” is in operation running alternatively on Lines E and F through Brooklyn, Manhattan, and Queens. The train’s interior has been decorated with vinyls to replicate the New York Public Library’s main reading room.

MTA customers can access the Subway Library by connecting to the free TransitWirelessWiFi through their network settings, and clicking on the SubwayLibrary.com prompt to start reading from a large selection of titles.
