St Petersburg Metro launches tender for 27 trains

ST Petersburg Metro has launched a tender for a contract to supply 27 six-car metro trains for a maximum price of Roubles 13.6bn ($US 208m), with an August 25 deadline for bids.

A public auction is scheduled for September 6, and the first train should be delivered by June 2017. The contractor will supply 15 trains in 2017, and a further 12 in 2018.

Škoda Transportation subsidiary Vagonmash, and Octyabrsky Electric Car Plant (OEVRZ) which are both currently supplying for the metro, are expected to compete for the tender.
