COMMERCIAL services began on April 20 on the fourth light rail line in the French city of Lyon. Line T4 runs for 10km from an interchange with Line T2 at Jet d'eau-Mendès France to Feyzin hospital via the university district. The Euros 185.3 million line has 18 stations, including a park-and-ride station Vénissieux, where it intersects with Metro Line D.

Alstom has supplied 13 Citadis LRVs for Phase 1 of the project, with a further three to follow by 2013 when a 2.3km, three-station extension from Jet d'eau-Mendès France to Part-Dieu station and IUT-Feyssine will open. The project was managed by Systra, which also has the contract for managing the construction of the Euros 78 million extension.
