CALABRIAN Railway invites bids by April 17 for a €63.1m tender funded by the Region of Calabria for 950mm-gauge diesel railcars.

The railway requires four two-car diesel-electric multiple units which must be designed so that a third intermediate coach can be added later. The contract must include a four-year warranty and full-service maintenance.

There is an option to supply up to 10 additional trains of the same time; the option will be valid for up to two years from the date the contract is awarded.

The trains must be able to cope with 100m-radius curves and 80m-radius curves at walking speed.
