Korail orders commuter EMUs from Hyundai Rotem

HYUNDAI-Rotem announced on October 18 that it has been awarded a Won 111.6bn contract by Korean national train operator Korail to supply 128 commuter EMU cars.

The order comprises four 10-car trains for the 27km Gyeongin Line, which links Seoul and Incheon, seven 10-car sets for Seoul’s Gwacheon and Ansan lines, and three six-car trains for the Gyeongwon Line.

Deliveries will take place in 2019.
