KM placed a Zlotys 257m ($US 69.5m) order with Newag for the 160km/h trains in November 2014 with the aid of Zlotys 82m in European Union cohesion funding.
Each five-car set accomodates up to 531 passengers, 206 of them seated and the trains are equipped with passenger Wi-Fi and at-seat power sockets. The fleet will be deployed on the Warsaw – Skierniewice route.
