MITSUBISHI Electric has delivered wayside and onboard radio equipment for the first deployment of Communciations-Based Train Control (CBTC) on the Tokyo metro network.

The equipment will be used for trials on the Nakano-sakaue - Honancho branch of the Marunouchi Line (Line 4), using a specially-equipped 02 Series train.

If the trials are successful, Tokyo Metro plans to deploy CBTC across the entire 27.4km line by 2023.
