The customised 18m-long Roger 600, named Maquina Registradora de Vía (MRV), includes systems for measuring and inspecting track geometry, overhead line geometry, contact wire wear, rail internal flaws, and running dynamics. Introduction of the new car is expected to significantly reduce inspection time, with the opto-electronic systems in use able to complete tasks in one hour that would previously have taken EFE two weeks.
