The supply contract, which will not include any options, will start on January 1 2021 and run until December 11 2023.
Following the request to participate, HLB will select three candidates to submit offers followed by negotiations with the applicants to select a winning bidder. HLB says it reserves the right to place the order on the basis of the initial offers without entering into negotiations.
The tender follows an order for 20 DMUs awarded by HLB to Alstom in March. The trains, which seat 120 passengers, will operate on the Wetterau West-East network from 2022.
