GERMAN regional operator Hessen State Railways has published an announcement in the Official Journal of the European Union confirming that it has exercised an option with Alstom Germany for five additional four-car class 1440 Coradia Continental EMUs.

ALSTOM confirmed on December 15 that it has signed a €160m contract with Hessen State Railways (HLB) to supply 30 Coradia Continental EMUs for the Südhessen-Untermain regional network in central Germany.

GERMAN operator Hessen State Railway (HLB) has issued a call for tender for between 20 and 30 emus as part of its planned bid to operate train services on the Main-Neckar-Ried network.

FOLLOWING a Europe-wide tender, DB Regio has won Lot 1 of the contract to operate the Eifel-Westerwald-Sieg network contract in western Germany comprising three routes and covering 2.3 million train-km per year.
