DB says all companies active in Germany and around the world which currently have "DB Schenker Rail" in their name will be integrated into the new naming structure by the end of 2016.

The new name is reflective of a structural change at DB with rail and logistics activities now separate in organisational terms. As a result global logistics will continue to use DB Schenker with rail transport using DB Cargo. DB's passenger and freight rail business were combined in the new Traffic and Transport Division in August 2015.

"The aim is to improve the product portfolio and service quality we offer our customers," says Mr Andreas Busemann, head of DB Cargo's sales department.
