The ban was issued following an accident on the Great Belt Bridge on January 2, when a Danish State Railways (DSB) passenger train was struck by debris from a passing freight train, killing eight passengers and injuring 16.

Trafikstyrelsen has now allowed CFL Cargo and TX Logistik to resume the transport of semi-trailers on pocket wagons on the Danish network. Approval was granted late in the afternoon of January 14 after Trafikstyrelsen examined proof of documentation and processes jointly filed by CFL Cargo and TX Logistik.

Intermodal services from Padborg to Verona have since resumed.

“The documents we submitted have convinced the regulator of the safety of our processes,” says TX Logistik CEO, Mr Mirko Pahl. “We are very pleased to be allowed to drive again without restriction.”
