The Valley Line will run from Mill Woods in southeast Edmonton through the city centre to Lewis Farms in west Edmonton. The Valley Line project is split into two stages.

Stage one comprises the 13km Valley Line Southeast (VLSE) from Mill Woods Town Centre to Downtown Edmonton. VLSE is under construction and is being delivered as a public-private partnership.

Stage two consists of the 14km Valley Line West (VLW) from Downtown to the terminus at Lewis Farms Transit Centre. Bids are currently being evaluated from three consortia for a design-build-finance contract. It is hoped to start construction next year.

The operations and maintenance advisory services contractor will assist in the procurement, design, construction and commissioning of the VLW section as well as the overall infrastructure, including systems and light rail vehicles.

The scope of the contract covers reviewing the City of Edmonton’s current operations concept for the VLW as part of the extension to the VLSE, and providing strategic, tactical, technical, and commercial advice and recommendations to optimise operation, maintenance and storage requirements for the fully-integrated Valley Line LRT system.

Interested bidders should register at the City of Edmonton’s SAP Ariba website. A non-mandatory virtual information session will be held on May 19.
