The contract covers detailed design, supply and installation of tracks and turnouts for pneumatic-tyred operation, as well as installing walkways and fire mains.
Colas Rail will lay the track on a 2.4km extension to metro Line B from its current terminus at Gare d’Oullins southwest via Oullins Centre to the new Lyon South Hospitals complex in Saint-Genis-Laval, where there will be a 900-place car park and bus interchange.
Construction of the underground extension started in 2018. It is due to open in June 2023.
