The 60km 250km/h double-track line in Latvia comprises a 29km section from Vangaži to Ķivuļurga River and a 31km section from there via Salaspils to Misa River.
“Construction of 10 bridges, including a bridge over Daugava River with a projected length 1.6km, 14 road viaducts, 15 railway viaducts, four eco-ducts, 45 culverts and 12 main gas-pipeline crossings are planned as a part of the design specification,” says Mr Mart Nielsen, RB Rail’s chief technical officer.
A two-stage tender process is planned, starting with the selection of candidates who will be given detailed information on the scope of the services to be procured and invited to submit proposals in the second stage.
RB Rail is the Rail Baltica joint venture responsible for developing the €5.8bn standard-gauge high-speed line linking Tallinn, Riga, Vilnius and Poland which is due to open in 2026.
