According to a report published in Spanish business newspaper Expansión on December 15, the agreement will give Acciona a share of more than 50% with Ilsa’s founders retaining a 23% stake.

Ilsa was the first private company to formally seek permission to launch international services, submitting a notification of its plans for a Montpellier - Barcelona - Madrid service to the National Commission for Markets and Competition (CNMC) in September 2017.

According to Expansión, Ilsa will soon be in a position to announce a supplier for a fleet of around 17 trains, with options including Siemens’ Velaro, Talgo’s Avril, and the Euroduplex or Pendolino from Alstom.
