The 7km line runs from Terminal 2 at Nice Airport north to Saint-Isidore. The southern 3.7km with five stations is shared with Line 2 as far as Digue des Français. The 3.3km of new track with six stations runs along the central reservation of Simone Veil Avenue.

LRVs will operate at 12-minute headways at a commercial speed of 22km/h.

Work started on the line at the end of 2017 and test running started in September. The €56.82m project was partially funded through grants totalling €8.65m of which €3.48m was provided by the French government, €3.47m from the department of Alpes Maritimes, and €1.7m from Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region.
