The Lint 54 DMUs will be assembled at Alstom’s Salzgitter plant and the fleet is due to enter service in December 2020.

Each two-car train will seat 150 passengers with capacity for 18 bicycles and “generous” multifunctional areas for passengers with wheelchairs and pushchairs.

The 140km/h DMUs will receive the now-standard yellow/white livery being applied to regional trains in Baden-Württemberg.

The introduction of the Lint fleet will enable a recast of the timetable on the Zollernalb Line in December 2020. The trains will initially be operated by South West German Railway Company (Sweg), although a new contract for operation of regional services on the route is due to begin in December 2021.
