The new Flixtrain service takes 5h 37min from Berlin Main station to Cologne with fares starting at €9.99 one-way. This is more than one hour slower than German Rail’s (DB) hourly-interval ICE service which has a lowest fare of €19.90 if booked well in advance.
The train runs six days per week and serves three stations in Berlin: Südkreuz, Main and Spandau, and calls at Wolfsburg, Hannover, Bielefeld, Dortmund, Essen, Duisburg and Düsseldorf.
