The service, operated in association with Bavarian Railway Company (BEG), will extend Westbahn’s Westgreen service from Vienna’s west main station via Salzburg main station to Munich. The service will also run at the same time as Meridian’s Freilassing - Teisendorf - Traunstein - Bergen - Übersee - Bernau am Chiemsee - Prien am Chiemsee - Bad Endorf - Rosenheim - Munich East - Munich main station commuter services.

The new train will be operated by Westbahn in Austria and Meridian in Bavaria.

The connection will begin in Vienna at 05:43 and arrive in Salzburg at 08:08, before departing at 08.15 and arriving in Munich at 10:06. The service will also depart Vienna at 08:43 and 14:43, arriving in Munich at 13:06 and 19:06 respectively. The journey time of 4h 23mins is 20 minutes slower than Austrian Federal Railways’ (ÖBB) competing Railjet service.

Services in the opposite direction will leave Munich central station at 08.55, 14.55 and 17.55, arriving in Vienna at 13.17, 19.17 and 22.17 respectively.

Westbahn’s application to Austrian rail regulator Schienencontrol to extend its Vienna - Salzburg service to Munich in May included four daily services from Salzburg to Munich.
