ADY signed a $US 133m contract with Stadler in June 2014 for 30 coaches, which will be formed into three sets of 10 cars, with an option for 70 additional vehicles. The coaches are equipped with adjustable wheelsets to enable operation on the 1435mm gauge network in Turkey and the 1520mm-gauge systems in Georgia and Azerbaijan.

Two coaches have been tested at speeds of up to 177km/h on the Treuchtlingen - Donauwörth section of the Nuremberg - Augsburg line.

Delivery of the first vehicles to Azerbaijan is scheduled for the first quarter of 2019.

The Kars - Tbilisi - Baku project was completed in October 2017.
