Hit Rail, a Dutch company owned by 12 European train operators, recently launched a set of IT solutions to aid interoperability, and its first important implementation is a translator between bit-oriented and XML versions for seat reservation messages. Rhaetian Railway is the first operator to use XML messages to exchange seat reservations with other train operators, as Ugo Dell'Arciprete, Hit Rail's commercial manager explains.
