The 24-month project will support the rollout of ERTMS Level 2, which will be installed by Bombardier under a €35m contract signed earlier this year.
Kapsch will expand the existing base station controllers (BSCs) and transcoder units, and will also supply and install 32 BTS 9000 base stations at 16 locations along the line. Kapsch says the new base stations will be installed with the assistance of its local partner Torpol.
