Bombardier wins Munich airport contract

MUNICH Airport's Terminal 2 expansion will be aided through the installation of a new Innovia driver-less automated peoplemover (APM) that will be designed, built, operated, and maintained by Bombardier following the award of a Euros 89m contract by Terminal 2 Operating Company and Munich Airport Construction.

Algiers metro finally opens

THE president of Algeria, Mr Abdelaziz Bouteflika, has inaugurated train operation on the first section of Line 1 of the Algiers metro. The 9km section has 10 stations and runs from Tafourah Grande Poste in the city centre to Haï el Badr. Algiers Metro Enterprise (EMA) expects the line eventually to carry 300,000 passengers a day.
