São Paulo Metro Orange line project moves a step closer
THE government of the Brazilian state of São Paulo announced on November 11 that it will evaluate a deal over the next 90 days whereby Acciona, Spain, will take over a public-private partnership (PPP) project to build Metro Line 6-Orange.

Rio de Janeiro LRT Line 3 opens
RIO de Janeiro’s Carioca LRT Line 3 opened on October 26. The 4km line runs from Central do Brasil station to Santos Dumont Airport, with a journey time of approximately 18 minutes.

SÃO PAULO Metro published an international tender on July 12 for a contract to supply electrical and mechanical systems for the 7.7km monorail Line 17 (Gold Line), which will connect Congonhas airport with Morumbi station on Paulista Metropolitan Trains Company (CPTM) Line 9.
