THE chairman and CEO of Alstom, Mr Patrick Kron has announced that French National Railways (SNCF) has signed a contract for 40 additional Euroduplex double-deck TGVs, while at the same time confirming that Alstom has dropped it legal action against Eurostar, in which SNCF is the majority shareholder, over a tender in 2009 for high-speed trains to operate through the Channel Tunnel.
