The system is equipped with high-speed cameras, which can capture up to 100 frames per second, and the system can report measurement results within two minutes of the passing of the final wheelset.

The unit simultaneously measures a range of parameters including flange depth and width, qR factor, rim thickness, back-to-backs, tread hollows, and wheel diameter.

Danobat says the system is capable of maintaining a constant temperature inside the triangulation unit in air temperatures as low as -20oC and the unit was installed at the depot without any civil works or removal of rails.
