Hong Kong’s Tuen Ma Line first phase set for Valentine's Day opening
MTR has announced plans to open Phase 1 of the Tuen Ma Line in Hong Kong on February 14, with services connecting Hin Keng with the expanded Diamond Hill station and Kai Tak.

Hong Kong project and British franchise impact MTR half-year results
MTR Corporation recorded revenue of $HK 28.2bn ($US 3.5bn) in the first half of 2019, up 7.2% from $HK 26.3bn the same period last year. However, overall profit fell from $HK 7.1bn in the first half of 2018 to $HK 5.6bn this year.

MTR proposes phased opening of Tuen Ma Line, outlines options for Shatin - Central Link
A feasibility study by MTR Corporation has found a phased opening of Hong Kong’s Tuen Ma Line (TML), which would see three new stations at Hin Keng, Diamond Hill and Kai Tak open in the first quarter of 2020, is a viable option.

Hong Kong high-speed services to be ramped up from next month
MTR has announced that high-speed services (HSR) between Hong Kong West Kowloon station (WEK) and mainland China will be improved with more services and additional stops from July 10, which will also result in changes to Intercity Through Train and East Rail Line services.

MTR to resume Tuen Ma Line CBTC testing
MTR will resume dynamic testing of CBTC on the Tuen Ma Line on June 10 following a derailment and collision on the Tsuen Wan Line on March 18 during non-traffic hours, which prompted MTR to immediately suspend all further testing.

MTR reports slight drop in revenue and profit
HONG Kong-based operator MTR Corporation recorded a 2.7% drop in revenue in 2018, down from $HK 55.4bn ($US 7bn) to $HK 53.9bn, resulting in a 4.3% decrease in profit from $HK 16.8bn to $HK 16.1bn. The decrease in overall revenue was mainly caused by a sharp fall in revenue from MTR’s mainland China property development business, which dropped from $HK 6.9bn to $HK 60m.

Light rail speed and position supervision system on test in Hong Kong
MTR Corporation has begun trialling an integrated speed and position supervision system (iSPS) developed by MTR engineers on three light rail routes in Tin Shui Wai, Hong Kong, which enables real-time speed monitoring of LRVs.
