AAR calls for pro-innovation approach to rail freight automation regulations

Thameslink operator sanctioned for timetable chaos
BRITAIN’s Department for Transport (DfT) has cut Govia Thameslink Railway’s (GTR) franchise profits and instructed it to make £15m of passenger improvements for its role in the huge disruption to services following the introduction of a new timetable in May, which sought to introduce a large number of new services on the cross-London Thameslink network.

TRANSDEV Germany has filed an appeal with Saxony’s State Office for Road Construction and Transport (LASuV) against a waiver enabling Flixbus to operate inter-city bus services on the Leipzig - Chemnitz route on the grounds that it establishes “unlawful” competition with publicly-funded train services.
