FOLLOWING a lengthy legal dispute, plans to extend Bordeaux's tram network to the northwest received a significant boost on July 21, when the city's administrative appeal court ruled that the €270m project can go ahead.

BORDEAUX is celebrating the start of commercial services on the latest addition to its growing light rail network, a 3.7km extension of Line C, following the completion of a €108m project.

BORDEAUX added another 6.4km to its expanding light rail network on January 24, when the city's mayor Mr Alain Juppé inaugurated two extensions in the north and west of the city.

THE Metropolitan Council of Bordeaux (CUB) has voted unanimously to renew Keolis's contract to operate the city's public transport network for a further eight years from January 1.
