Finnish regional council delays Finland - Estonia undersea rail tunnel
PLANS to construct a 100km privately-funded high-speed tunnel between Finland and Estonia have been delayed by up to six years after the Helsinki-Uusimaa regional council’s assembly voted to route the project under the capital.

Finland trials 830m freight train
FINNISH freight operator VR Transpoint piloted operation of an 830m 6000-tonne freight train consisting of 66 wagons and two Siemens Vectron locomotives at the end of March, a development which VR hopes will improve the flow of rail freight from Russia.
