SLOVAKIA’s national passenger operator ZSSK has awarded a consortium of Škoda Transportation and Slovakian partner ŽOS Trnava a contract worth around €160m to supply 25 RegioPanter regional EMUs for services in the Žilina area.

SLOVAKIAN national passenger operator ZSSK has confirmed it is planning to reinstate inter-city services between the capital Bratislava and the country’s second-largest city Košice from December 11.
ZSSK Cargo, Slovakia, transported 16.9 million tonnes of freight in the first six months of 2016, reaching operating revenues of €134.6m, recording an operating profit of €15.6m, and a total profit of €549,000.
