THE 309km Shangqiu - Hefei section of China’s Shangqiu - Hefei - Hangzhou (Shanghehang) high-speed railway opened on June 28. Full timetabled services are expected to commence in July.

Bombardier-CRRC joint venture awarded high-speed train maintenance contract
CHINA Railway has awarded Bombardier Sifang (Qingdao) Transportation (BST), a 50:50 joint venture between Bombardier and CRRC Sifang Rolling Stock, a Yuan 2.45bn ($US 354.9m) contract to maintain 656 high-speed coaches.
