TRENITALIA and Hitachi Rail Italy have signed a €1.6bn framework agreement for the supply of 135 new diesel-electric regional trains.
HITACHI Rail Italy (HRI) signed an €87m contract on July 16 to supply 12 Leonardo trains for use on Line 2 of the Milan Metro, in addition to the 60 trains previously ordered by Milan Transport (ATM) through its 2012 framework agreement.
