Sydney CBD and South East light rail opens
SYDNEY’s 12.7km CBD and South East light rail line was officially opened on December 14 by New South Wales premier, Ms Gladys Berejiklian, and transport minister, Mr Andrew Constance. The $A 2.9bn ($US 1.9bn) light rail route from Circular Quay to Randwick attracted 150,000 users on the first two days of operation, which were fare-free.
