Škoda Transportation wins Warsaw metro train contract
ŠKODA Transportation has been confirmed as the winner of a contract to supply up to 45 six-car metro trains to Warsaw, including an initial order for 37 trains, with the first cars due to be delivered two years after contract signing. The contract is worth almost Zlotys 8bn ($US 2bn).

Latvian EMU order finally signed
AFTER two failed procurements, and a tumultuous third tender, Latvian passenger operator Pasažieru Vilciens (PV) finally concluded a deal for the renewal of its EMU fleet on July 30, when it signed a €241.9m contract with Škoda Vagonka for 32 trains.

Škoda Transtech awarded contract for Finnish restaurant cars
FINNISH Railways (VR) has awarded Škoda subsidiary Škoda Transtech a contract worth around Koruna 600m ($US 25.9m) to supply seven new double-deck dining cars. The cars, which will be produced in Kajaani, Finland, will be put into operation in 2021-22.
